Net divisions are some of the most popular golf tournaments in the country. Anyone with a United States Golf Association golf handicap is eligible to play in the tournaments, and the field is leveled with the introduction of the handicap system.

In Nevada, there are a few state net championships, and those are the known as the most prestigious in Nevada.

The Nevada State Senior Net Amateur is the top senior tournament for net players in Nevada.

The 2015 Nevada State Senior Net Amateur was played at the Rees Jones-designed Rio Secco Golf Club, home of the Butch Harmon School of Golf. Randy Burton won the event while Jim Licausi, a SNGA regular, finished in second place while Alan Korogness, a Northern Nevada Golf Association player, finished in 3rd.

The win was the first major for Burton in the state of Nevada.
